British Standard BS5839 Part 6: 2004 defines the design, installation and maintenance of Fire Detection systems in domestic dwellings. In certain circumstances, where required by Building Control or Planning Authorities, this may be a traditional Fire Alarm System with automatic fire detection devices, manual call points (break-glass) and sounders, however, in most cases this will be a much simpler system using interlinked devices.
Most of us are familiar with the simple stand-alone battery powered smoke detectors and this is the absolute minimum that you should have. These devices are intended to provide "Protection of Life" for you and your family and they have been very successful in doing just that.

Through an associated company, we can also provide a water mist fire suppression system designed specifically for use in domestic dwellings. Please contact us for details.
